"f86sabre" (f86sabre)

We went over to a friends house yesterday and when we came out to leave we found that their basket ball hoop had fallen over. On the way to the ground it bounced off the hood of the Evo. This left a gouge in the paint and a couple of dents including one nasty one. Apparently, the 30-40 MPH gusts were too much for the hoop’s corroded support. So, even though we are in Atlanta there was still damage. Not anything compared to what a lot of people have had to deal with, but it still sucks.

Damn, that sucks! Hopefully it mostly buffs out.
I’d also like to report that my car received damage down here, too... The driver’s side door was frozen shut, so I tried to get it open from the inside. The little white thingy in the handle broke, (I’m assuming you’re familiar with that from your LeMons car? They break all the time) so for now I’m stuck rolling down my window to get out.

I lived in Atlanta (Midtown, near GT) about ten years ago. That was a shitty winter.

I was here for that one. Been here since 98. The level of freak out over snow has only intensified.
Evo VIIIs are CT9A chassis code.

Same seller as the hood for my logo, but do you have $500 plus ridiculous shipping amount? Probably more likely, you can one closer to home, or even go with a carbon fiber one.

I wish I would have known about these 8 years ago. Our family car is the Evo and we have a Mini. Those are the only cars we have owned since we had kids.

I’d like to stick with aluminum. We have electromagnetic dent pullers at work. I need to talk with some folks to see if I brought the hood if they could give it a go. Thanks for looking though!
Carbon hoods freak me out. I work with composites as part of my job and I know what happens when they fail. They get really sharp really fast. Car hoods are made to fail in such a way that they don’t cut your head off. I’m not sure about some of these after market pieces though.

The car is ruined, time to rally-X it.
